Join us for a 2 hour glaze workshop where our helpful and experienced instructors will help you find the best glaze for your finished pieces, walk you through the glaze options available at the studio, and a variety of techniques for applying color and texture to your work. You must be currently enrolled in classes at the studio to attend.
Techniques to be covered include using one glaze vs. layering two glazes, dipping vs brushing, and under-glazes vs glazes. We will also learn how each type of glaze at the studio works so you can achieve the results you want and be sure you are making safe combinations and applying glaze correctly.
Each student should bring at least one bone dry piece and at least two bisque-fired pieces that are ready to be glazed.
Max 8 students

Enjoy a date night, night out with friends, or even a quiet evening at home while your kid creates summer-themed pottery, digs into yummy pizza, and maybe makes a new friend or two at Good Dirt LA. We’d love to see familiar faces, but are also hoping to meet a few new budding artists.
Join us on Sunday, August 6 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm for this special event to raise money for the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC).
We’ll have a selection of ceramics made by our beginner students for sale and a variety of plants on hand, so you can pair your favorite pot with your favorite plant!
Want to create a unique arrangement? Good Dirt LA will also provide all the necessary materials for you to make your own.
Each potted plant will be sold for a minimum donation of $15. All proceeds will be donated to the NRDC – our environment’s best legal defense!
Join us for an intro to the potter’s wheel! This is a great class for beginners, or anyone who just wants a refresher on the basics. In addition to step-by-step instruction to make your own wheel-thrown masterpieces, you will learn the basics behind all the ceramics buzzwords: trimming, coiling, handbuilding, throwing, glazing and firing and have a wonderful introduction to our studio.
Learning to throw on the wheel is challenging, fun, and even relaxing!
After the class, our studio staff will trim and glaze your artwork – it will be fired and ready for pick up within 3-4 weeks. Once you take your pieces home, they will be a permanent reminder of your evening with us and you new creative skills.
