Class Expectations for all Studio Visitors and Class Participants
Only those with paid reservations will be admitted to the studio promptly at designated class times. You may only use the studio during your specific allotted time and may not bring any one (partner, friend, child, or pet) with you without a separate paid reservation.
If you are feeling unwell, please do not come to the studio. We will make exceptions for last minute cancellations for illnesses. Thank you for helping us keep our studio a healthy place to be!
We welcome you to bring your own hand towel and apron if you choose to use them. The studio does not provide aprons or hand towels for students.
For safety reasons, long hair should be tied back and jewelry removed. We recommend that students trim long nails.
All students are responsible for cleaning up at least 20 minutes prior to the end of class time. Clean-up includes cleaning and putting away all tools and wiping down any areas used for wheel throwing and hand building.
Good Dirt LA is not responsible for any personal items lost or left behind by the client during a class. We strongly encourage you to leave all valuables at home.
Policies Specific to One Time Classes
CANCELLATION POLICY FOR ONE-TIME CLASSES
No refunds or makeup classes. You may reschedule your booking or cancel for full credit up until 72 hours before the start of class. Credits do not expire and can be used towards all class offerings at our studio.
Policies Specific to Independent Creative Time visitors:
We ask that all Creative Time visitors take special care to keep the studio clean and respect one another’s space and time as the studio is a communal space. You must leave the studio as clean or cleaner than you found it and use the space during your scheduled session time.
Clean-up includes cleaning and putting away all tools and wiping down any areas used for throwing and hand building. Failure to properly clean up or leave on time will result in losing Creative Time permission.
It is the responsibility of each participant during any given session to ensure that the studio is properly locked before leaving the premises. This is absolutely critical for the security of the studio. If you do not have information or are unclear about how to open and close the studio on your own, please contact gooddirtla@gmail.com and keep this information readily available.
CANCELLATION POLICY FOR CREATIVE TIME VISITORS
You may Reschedule or Cancel any individual session by yourself online without penalty up until 24 hours before the scheduled visit. The credit for that visit will be returned automatically to your 6-Pack Bundle to be used until the package expires. Each 6-Pack Bundle expires 65 days after purchase. Unused sessions do not roll over and no refunds or credit will be granted for individually missed sessions.
Policies Specific to Multi-Week Courses
CANCELLATION POLICY FOR ONE-TIME CLASSES
No refunds. You may cancel for full credit up until 10 days before the start of class.One complimentary makeup class per session is included for 6-WEEK SERIES ONLY. Makeup classes must be scheduled within the session or during designated makeup times. Please email katelyn.gdla@gmail.com BEFORE your missed class to schedule a makeup. *2 AND 4-WEEK SERIES DO NOT INCLUDE MAKEUP CLASSES
If you cannot attend a makeup session during the course time, you may receive $50 credit for only one (1) Early Cancellation per multi-week course. Credits do not expire and can be used towards all class offerings at our studio.
Policies Specific to Kids Classes
CANCELLATION POLICY FOR KIDS CLASSES
No refunds or makeup classes. You may reschedule your booking of Kids Camp up to 10 days before the start of camp. Credits do not expire and can be used towards all class offerings at our studio.
Assumption of Risk & Release of Liability
ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF RISKS: Good Dirt LA takes all reasonable measures to create a safe work space for members, teachers, students and studio workers at its pottery studio. I understand that as part of any pottery class or other activity, I (and/or my minor child if child is under the age of 18) may be exposed to clay dust and chemicals at the studio. I further understand that there are inherent risks with such exposure which could potentially cause bodily injury or harm. I understand the description of these risks is not complete and that unknown or unanticipated risks may result in injury, illness or even death.
ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND RESPONSIBILITY: By using the facilities at Good Dirt LA, I agree to assume responsibility (for myself and/or my minor child if child is under the age of 18) for those risks identified herein and those not specifically identified and elect to participate in spite of the risks. I certify that I (and/or my minor child if child is under the age of 18) am physically capable of participating in this activity and that my participation in this activity is purely voluntary. I assume full responsibility (for myself and/or my minor child if child is under the age of 18) for any loss or damage which may incur through participation in classes or other activities at the Good Dirt LA pottery studio.
RELEASE OF LIABILITY: In consideration for the services provided, I, for myself and any minor children for which I am parent, legal guardian or otherwise responsible, any heirs, personal representative or assigns, do hereby covenant not to sue and fully release and discharge all rights and/or causes of action of any kind, including claims of negligence, which I may have against Good Dirt LA, and its principles, owners, agents, employees, members, teachers, workers and representatives including, without limitation, any and all claims arising out of, or in any way related to use of facilities at the Good Dirt LA pottery studio and the related activities described herein.
NOTICE OF RISK DUE TO COVID-19: Good Dirt LA cannot prevent you from becoming exposed to, contracting, or spreading COVID-19 while utilizing Good Dirt LA’s services or premises. It is not possible to prevent against the presence of the disease. Therefore, if you choose to utilize Good Dirt LA’s services and/or enter onto Good Dirt LA’s premises you may be exposing yourself to and/or increasing your risk of contracting or spreading COVID-19.
ASSUMPTION OF RISK DUE TO COVID-19: I have read and understood the above warning concerning COVID-19. I hereby choose to accept the risk of contracting COVID-19 for myself and/or my children in order to utilize Good Dirt LA’s services and enter Good Dirt LA’s premises. These services are of such value to me that I accept the risk of being exposed to, contracting, and/or spreading COVID-19 in order to utilize Good Dirt LA’s services and premises in person rather than arranging for an alternative method of enjoying the same services virtually (e.g. videoconference.)
WAIVER OF LAWSUIT/LIABILITY RELATED TO COVID-19: I hereby forever release and waive my right to bring suit against Good Dirt LA and its owners, officers, directors, managers, officials, trustees, agents, employees, or other representatives in connection with exposure, infection, and/or spread of COVID-19 related to utilizing Good Dirt LA’s services and premises. I understand that this waiver means I give up my right to bring any claims including for personal injuries, death, disease or property losses, or any other loss, including but not limited to claims of negligence and give up any claim I may have to seek damages, whether known or unknown, foreseen or unforeseen.
CHOICE OF LAW: I understand and agree that the law of the State of California will apply to this contract.
I have carefully read and fully understand the foregoing Assumption of Risk & Release of Liability. I understand that by signing up I (for myself and/or my minor child if child is under the age of 18) am waiving valuable legal rights, including the right to sue, and sign it freely and willingly.
